COCOA TEA

We did not invent cocoa tea, it is a drink that has been drunk for millennia. For the ancient Maya civilizations, the infusion of cocoa played a spiritual role. We can understand why: it's a gently euphoric drink, packed with vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants! If it's good enough for the Mayan gods...

Cocoa tea is made from roasted cocoa shells. It's an invigorating beverage that falls somewhere between dark chocolate and tea. It's a great alternative to coffee since it helps with concentration and focus without the over-stimulating effect of caffeine.

The shells of the herbal tea come from the same cocoa that we use to make our chocolate bars. It is an organic cocoa, of superior quality and of fair origin. Everything is prepared by hand by our fiery team in our small chocolate factory in Montreal.

Preparation

Preparing a cocoa herbal tea is really not rocket science. Just do as with any other tea or infusion. Pour a cup of boiling water over 2 teaspoons of herbal tea and steep for about 5 minutes. It is best to use a ball or a tea infuser to strain the herbal tea.

By using the pure version and a bit of imagination, it is possible to create all sorts of flavor combinations. Add literally anything you want: dried fruit, spices, cinnamon, hibiscus flower... You can also add a touch of sugar, honey or maple syrup. What is our favorite? Chai herbal tea with a drop of maple syrup and a dash of oat milk.

MEASURE

2 teaspoons of herbal tea for a cup of water.

INFUSE

Five minutes of infusion in boiling water.

ENJOY

Try it with milk, honey or maple syrup!
